May 10, 2008: Tulukoota Rasamanjari'2008 Rocks the Audience

Tulukoota Kuwait held its Annual Musical Programme- Rasamanjari 2008 with Gurukiran and his troupe at "Masrah Hawally Auditorium "Friday, 9th May 2008. This was the first time that Indian musical sensation Gurukiran performed with his other artists like Chaitra, Shamita, Naveen Kopa, Deva & Dayanand in Kuwait. The venue was packed as over thousand fans gathered at the Masrah Hawally auditorium to listen to the high energy singer, and have a glimpse of him.

The show began with welcome dance performed by students of Nritha Sri Nritha Vidayalayam; followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by President Satishchandra Shetty, Vice President Swarna Shetty, and Cultural Secretary Harish Bhandary.

Navin Koppa the MC for the event added the spark and sensation to the event, and the crowd welcomed his presence on the stage, as he sang the vibrant song " zidd hain ab toh hain khud ko mitana hona hain tujhmein fanaa".

Chaitras hit number "Hoodga Hoodga" and "Dhoom Machale Dhoom" swept the audience off their feet ". Dr. Shamita maintained the high tempo of the evening as she sang hit kannada songs and one of Tulukoota all time favorites "Yeka Saka"

When Guru kiran came on stage the crowd went wild, cheering and applauding their star. Dressed in black he was the consummate showman who "captivated the crowd with his style and performance. He breathed new life into songs that were heard many times before by the audience. Keeping the audience fully entertained for 4 hrs Guru took the audience to an extraordinary musical journey with perfect mix of old melody, and modern fast numbers .Romantic numbers by Guru kiran like "Roop tera masthana & Jadoo teri nazar added nostalgic effect to the evening.

Gurukiran paused in between the songs like "MTV Subalakshmi ge"and "Yari yarilo, prompting the audience to complete the song, and engaging them in this musical journey. The crowd was enthralled as he conversed with them in between the performances in Tulu, Kannada, and the energy was palable as Gurukiran sang from one of the latest Konkani albums. Comedy artist Dayanada's creative comedy style left the audience rolling in laughter and ecstasy.

Deva the star drummer and percussionist with his magical fingers and hands performed drum beats and regaled the audience. His performance was awesome. He mesmerized the audience with his drumbeat and showed the audience how music was produced using different objects.

Dance performances by local all time favorite artists like Shalini Alva, Amita Shetty, Ballerines dance group was applauded by the audience. The DJ illusion dance group won the heart of the Tulukoota audience with their grace and performance.

Gurukirans humbleness and commitment towards providing the best entertainment touched the heart of audience. The day ended with raffle draw announcements, and vote of thanks by the General Secretary Dheeraj Shetty. The programme announcement was beautifully coordinated by Manoj and Smitha Shetty.
